The Finance Business Partner is responsible for all financial business decision support systems, and supporting analysis, to facilitate decision making and ensure the ongoing profitable growth of the business; the production of all European budgets, plans and forecasts to manage the performance of the business against; and ensuring that robust and innovative systems are in place to enable the production of high quality, reliable and insightful information.
Budgeting, Planning & Forecasting
Managing the collation, production and presentation of all budgets, plans and forecasts in accordance with agreed timetables.
Developing the models, systems and processes required to fulfil all planning, budgeting and forecasting obligations, ensuring that they are robust and efficient, and able to provide the required level of accuracy and detail to enable the meaningful monitoring of actual performance against targets.
Ensuring that all plans, budgets and forecasts are supported by insightful and in-depth explanations of assumptions, variance and sensitivity analyses, and actions required to achieve objectives and KPIs.
Establishing, in conjunction with the Senior Management Team, agreed 'stretch goals' for the business. Analysing and understanding what the underlying factors are in driving the business's results and assisting business management in developing action plans to provide a 'road map' of the financial performance required to achieve these goals.
Creating, developing and maintaining pricing matrices used within the business. Ensuring that the model is robust, has integrity and is properly tested and controlled to prevent unauthorised access. Ensuring that users are properly trained in its operations.
Ensuring that the pricing model incorporates all relevant factors including cash flows, funding costs, appropriate levels of granularity over bad debts and costs, and provides a sufficient level of detail to accurately predict the future profitability of the business being priced.
Seeking to continuously improve the pricing model, incorporating the requirements of new products and markets, and periodically updating all assumptions based on the latest available empirical data.
Creating, developing and maintaining the division's Profitability Analysis and New Business Report, being the key financial decision-making tools used by the business for analysing market, product and customer profitability. Ensuring that the information provided is timely, accurate and relevant to support the ultimate business objective of improving profitability on a continuous basis.
A qualified accountant who is a member of a recognised accounting body (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with at least 5 years of industry experience.
Advanced Excel with previous experience of Cognos Express preferred.
High standards of accuracy and precision articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
