Our client is an award-winning grade 1 Ofsted training provider seeking an equine trainer assessor to cover the Kent area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing team of professionals and work to support learners gain their apprenticeship qualification in equine care at levels 2 and 3.

If you love horses, have your BHS level 3 and want to move into a training role but you don't have an assessing qualification my client will UPSKILL YOU TO BECOME AN ASSESSOR if you are prepared to put in the hard work within the first 6 months of your appointment.

This is an unbelievable opportunity to become an apprenticeship assessor and utilise both your love and knowledge of horses and pass this onto other learners.

My client has been delivering high-quality apprenticeships and work-based vocational training since the late '90s and is a respected and well-known name in the equine arena. They deliver apprenticeships nationally and are currently adding to their team of assessor trainers and are seeking a high performing, qualified and experienced trainer assessor to join their team.

You will be managing a caseload of learners based in the Kent and surrounding counties.

This role will include supporting the entire learning journey, including:

  • Enrolment and initial assessment
  • Equine teaching, learning and assessment
  • Coaching/mentoring
  • Completing interim and mock endpoint assessments

Within this role, you will be working very closely with learners and employers and report to your team leader.

It is essential you have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Hold a minimum BHS stage 3 including riding or level 3 equivalents
  • Experience in the occupational area of the apprenticeships including practical and current knowledge of working practices, infrastructure, tools and technologies to support applications
  • Occupational knowledge and experience of horse autonomy, physiology and welfare

Due to the nature of this role, it is also essential the postholder has knowledge of the following skills and behaviours:

  • An understanding of "Trailblazer" apprenticeship standards
  • Excellent integrity and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of providing clear and accurate reports
  • Excellent investigative skills

The following skills would be desirable and advantageous;

  • Relevant teaching qualification (minimum PTTLS) or education and training level 3 or 4
  • Experience of marking and grading assessments
