CMD Recruitment are proud to be supporting this market leading specialist within the geotechnical site investigations for offshore renewables, offshore oil & gas, nearshore civil infrastructure, scientific research and offshore mineral exploration. Due to continued growth our client is now seeking to appoint an Engineering Design Technician to provide Design Engineering and Technical Support to the Naval Architects within the drilling and marine departments.

The Role:

  • Advancing and developing existing geotechnical investigation spreads
  • Planning, preparing, designing and implementing of spread and equipment mobilizations aboard vessels
  • Develop technical documentation and specifications for the equipment mobilizations aboard vessels
  • Develop technical documentation and specifications for equipment, including the maintenance of a document control system
  • Implementation and running of suitable planned maintenance systems for the Company's equipment; including job preparation planning/scheduling
  • Ensuring equipment and its operation is in compliance with all the relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Responsible for quality control and approval of all mechanical engineering and for engineering standards utilised, including possible development of in-house software in accordance with current industry accepted standards and methods

  • Assist the Naval Architect and the Drilling and Equipment manager in preparation, supervision and overseeing accurate preparation of budgets, cashflows and financial forecasts for equipment and plant
  • Promote and be responsible for the implementation and follow up of the Company's high level HSE rules and requirements during investment projects

Key Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Be familiar with rules of classification societies, international organisations
  • Understanding of Project Planning and the development and execution
  • 'Hands-On' use of CAD and structural design software programmes
  • Develop and write technical documentation
  • Knowledge of Engineering or Naval Architecture, especially in offshore geotechnical drilling, vessels and/or other heavy equipment
  • Preferred degree (Bachelor of Master or Professional Certification) in Engineering or Naval Architecture
  • Knowledge of the marine oil & gas sector, renewable energies, offshore construction
  • Experience with 'on-site' work, including fabrication supervision and installation of equipment aboard vessels
