Cabinet Maker

Salary up to £30,000 per annum DOE

Marlborough, Wiltshire.

37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday

I am recruiting for an experienced Cabinet Maker to join my client who is a progressive workshop which has built up a reputation for supplying high quality bespoke furniture and joinery into some of the country's finest homes and workspaces.

You will be responsible to make, not manufacture as every new project will be different to the last.


I am looking for an enthusiastic, qualified and experienced maker to join their team. The ideal candidate would have 4+ years of commercial experience in cabinet/furniture making and be comfortable leading projects.

As a Cabinet Maker you will be required to work on a number of different projects based in the workshop, you will be working on bespoke/unique pieces designed to meet our client's specifications. You will be passionate, highly articulate and take great pride in your work.

Good technical know-how in all areas of cabinetmaking including veneering required, as well as the ability to process basic tasks with precision and speed.

Ideally, you will possess a portfolio of your work and be used to working to the high personal standards which this industry has.

Other qualities essential for the role is as follows:

  • Understand drawings and resolve making problems
  • Use both traditional and modern woodworking methods, accurately with excellent hand skills
  • Have good time-keeping
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Have the ability to use your own initiative to foresee any problems during fitting
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be respectful and have a pleasant and courteous manner
  • Previous veneering skills are essential

Skills such as veneering are essential, while some carving knowledge/experience would be another plus. The salary would entirely depend on these skills.

Successful candidates will be required to complete a Telephone Pre-Screen with CMD before being submitted. If successful you will then be invited to an Assessment Centre at our client's site.
